Travis Reynolds was Born in Santa Cruz, California to artists; his mother a painter and illustrator and his father , a photographer and architect. At age 10 he started surfing at Pleasure Point down the street from his mother's home. When his father moved to the Ala Wai Harbour on Oahu, Reynolds would take every opportunity to stay oh father's boat, surf the South Shore and soak up the Hawaiian culture.

When Travis was 15, Santa Cruz shaper and surfer, Michel Junod, offered him a sponsorship on his surf team. This was his first glimpse into the board building world. Juno opened the doors to hi shaping bay, and for the next three years Reynolds studied under his mentorship. After high school he found his way back to Hawaii, and found home on the North Shore. In 2000 he first picked up a planner and started experimenting with his own understanding of board building. While there, he worked with master craftsmen Brian King, Charlie Walker, Heitor Fernandez and Luis Souza.

In 2005, Travis returned to Santa Cruz to continue to shape his craft by the waters he grew up in. Travis was hired to shape for Geoff Rashe of M10 boards and continued to slowly grow his own craft and board business. Coming full circle, he rented a space and shared the same glassers at Junod's whith continued mentorship under Junod and laminator Tony Mikus. In 2012, Steve Colleta approached Travis with the opportunity to help him shape some of the Colleta's Natural curves boards, where Travis gained invaluable knowledge and the details required to build fine tuned short boards.

Travis specializes in handcrafting custom boards start to finish: shape, glass, sand and polish. Over the years, he has had the pleasure of collaborating with many admirable artists including Thomas Campbell, Danny Clinch, Patrick Trefz and Alex Kopps. Travis now creates his boards out of Santa Cruz Board Builders Guild, shaping part time from Marc Andreini, working alongside Doug Haut, Ashley Lloyd Thomson and glass master Doug Fletcher. An Artist to the core, Travis works with many different mediums and finds inspiration from drawing, painting, woodworking on his home up in the North coast of Santa Cruz, out exploring with his love and baby boy, and surfing up and down the California coast.
